Description

SC-21 Lithium Silicate is an easy to apply, ready to use concrete densifier. SC-21 will react with the concrete to fill and seal capillaries in concrete, creating a dense hard surface which will minimize any future dusting and will allow coatings to adhere securely. SC-21 is zero VOC and will improve the sheen and strength of concrete surfaces.

Uses

SC-21 is suited for maintenance areas, driveways, parking lots and most concrete applications. Lithium Silicate is recommended for use when grinding and polishing concrete. It is also excellent for older concrete in order to minimize dusting, harden, make slabs more abrasion resistant and allow coatings to adhere.

Inspection

Surfaces must be structurally sound. The surface must be dry and free of oil, grease, curing agents, dirt, dust or other foreign material that may prevent proper adhesion.

Moisture

All concrete should be tested for moisture before applying a seamless coating. If moisture emissions exceed 5 lbs/1000 square feet (ASTM F1869) or if the relative humidity (RH) exceeds 75% (ASTM F2170), contact the manufacturer before application.

Preparation

For a new interior slab, SC-21 can be applied on a new slab with minimal prep. A slab with no foreign material can be prepped with a nylogrit brush. Carefully sweep and vacuum to prepare surface.

For an old slab, remove any material that will interfere with the reaction process. This is typically done with high-pressure water or by mechanical means (grinding, blasting, etc).
